Light

We were learning about reflections and light. We had a light and we shined it through a glass of water. It looked long when it was in the middle.

The Input Output Tunnel

Today we did input and output.  The whole class did it.  We got to build a tunnel with the imagination playground blocks.  After we built it, we got to go in the tunnel with a number and we came out with our new number. After we were done, we all took a picture.

We are Learning about Stars

We learned that there are millions and billions of stars.  We also learned that a constellation is a group of stars. Stars that are a constellation look like they are close together but they are far away.  When it is night for us it is day on the other side. The closest star to the earth is our sun.  When stars are at the end they burn or explode.  The sun doesn't move, it is the earth that does.

International Learning Day at Winona State University

Today we joined the other third grade classes at Winona State University for International Learning Day.  The kids got to walk around, visit displays about different countries and collect flags for their passports.  We played dress up in clothing from a variety of different countries. There were students from Brazil and Venezuela, who taught us more about their countries.  At the end of the day, we leaned a little Chinese, Japanese and Korean.  It was a great experience with exposure to diverse cultures. Such a fun afternoon of learning!
