Lids of Love

Today several of our students showed their support of one of our staff members who is battling an illness.  In order to wear a hat (lid), students donated a quarter. The generosity shown by students, families and staff was heartwarming.  All of the funds raised will go towards the enormous cost of treatments.

At Math we were working on perimeter QR codes with rectangles squares and other polygons.

Rocky the Bearded Dragon

We had a visit from Mrs. Uribe this afternoon.  She brought Max's pet Bearded Dragon.  The kids recorded wonderful observations in their Science Notebooks.  They were very engaged and had lots of good questions.  We learned lots of great facts about these cool lizards and even got to watch Rocky eat meal worms. What a fun critter encounter!

Today we learned about earth worms.

We also found out they do not like light.

Project Fair 2015

There was a great turnout for this year's Project Fair at the Winona Middle School.  It was fun catching up with so many families and learning about many different topics.  My third graders did a fabulous job on their research projects. Well done kids!
